How much does a video ad cost in Nigeria? (2026 price guide)

What a video ad really costs in Nigeria in 2026, what drives the price, and how to pick the right budget — from ₦30,000 edits to full commercials.

Quick answer: a video ad in Nigeria can cost anything from about ₦30,000 to well over a million naira. The price depends on how long the video is, whether real people and locations appear, and how many versions you need. At Boltreel, an edit of your own footage starts at ₦30,000, a product video made from your photos starts at ₦45,000, and a 30-second ad with people and locations is ₦195,000.

If you've asked three people for a price and got three very different answers, you're not alone. "How much is a video?" is like asking "how much is a car?" — it depends on what's inside. This guide breaks down what drives the cost, what each budget gets you, and the costs people forget to ask about.

What actually drives the price

Five things decide most of what you pay:

  1. Length and number of scenes. A 10-second product shot is one idea. A 45-second story has a beginning, a middle and an end, and every scene takes time to plan, make and edit.
  2. People on screen. Actors, models and voice-over artists have to be cast, briefed and paid. Adverts made for the Nigerian market are also expected to use Nigerian models and voices under ARCON's rules.
  3. Locations and sets. A plain background is cheap. A styled living room, a busy market or an office scene costs more to create or hire.
  4. Script, voice-over and music. Writing, recording and licensing music properly is part of the job. Music lifted from the internet can get your ad muted or taken down.
  5. Revisions, formats and turnaround. Extra rounds of changes, versions for different placements (9:16 for Reels and Status, 1:1 for the feed, 16:9 for YouTube) and rush delivery all add to the cost.

Why a traditional shoot costs more

A traditional shoot means a crew, cameras, lights, a location, transport, feeding everyone on set, and sometimes a second day when the weather or the generator doesn't cooperate. Each of those is a cost. For a big TV campaign that can make sense. For a business that needs fresh content for Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp every week, it usually doesn't.

That's why most of our videos don't need a shoot at all. For Product Motion and Product Spotlight videos, your product photos are enough — we build the scene around them.

How to choose your budget

Start from what you want the video to do:

  • Testing whether video works for you? Start with a Product Motion or an Edit Pack. They're quick, affordable and made for Reels and Status.
  • Launching a new product or collection? A Product Spotlight gives it a proper moment.
  • Building your brand, or running paid ads? A Signature Ad or Campaign Pack gives you a story plus versions to test.
  • Posting several times a week? A monthly plan works out cheaper per video than one-off orders.

Not sure? The plan finder asks a few questions and suggests a budget.

Costs people forget to ask about

Before you agree a price with anyone, ask:

  • How many revisions are included? Two rounds is common. Endless revisions usually mean the brief wasn't clear.
  • Is the music licensed for adverts? Unlicensed music can get a video muted or removed.
  • Which formats do I get? A video made only in 16:9 looks small on Reels and Status.
  • Is there a rush fee? At Boltreel, rush is 50% extra on most one-off orders.
  • What about ad spend? The price of the video doesn't include what you pay Instagram, Facebook or TikTok to show it.
  • Does the ad need approval? Paid adverts in Nigeria may need ARCON approval before they run, and that comes with its own fee.

How to get more from your budget

  • Pick one message. "New stock just landed" works better than a list of ten things.
  • Send good photos. Clear daylight photos from several angles make a better video. Here's what to send.
  • Reuse everything. One 30-second ad can become a 15-second cut, a Status clip and a teaser.
  • Test your hooks. The first two seconds decide whether people keep watching. See how to write a hook.

The bottom line

You don't need a million naira to look professional online. Match the budget to the job: small and frequent for everyday content, bigger for launches and paid campaigns. For a quote on something specific, tell us about your project and we'll reply on WhatsApp.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

Is ₦30,000 enough for a video ad in Nigeria?
Yes, for editing footage you've already filmed into a short ad with captions and music. For a video made from your product photos, budget from ₦45,000. Ads with people and locations start at ₦195,000.
Does the price include running the ad on Instagram or TikTok?
No. What you pay to make the video is separate from ad spend, which you pay directly to Meta or TikTok when you boost a post or run an ad.
Do I have to pay everything upfront?
At Boltreel, orders of ₦95,000 and above are paid half to start and half when you approve the final video. Smaller orders are paid in full before work starts.
How long does it take to make a video ad?
Edit Packs and Product Motion videos take about 3 business days, a Product Spotlight 5, a Signature Ad 7 and a Campaign Pack 10. Rush delivery is available on most one-off orders for 50% extra.
